Varifocal lenses provide a convenient way to combine distance, intermediate and near vision in one lens. The distance vision area is in the top part of the lens and is aligned with your pupil so that the power gradually increases as you look down the lens until you reach your full reading strength near the bottom of the lens. Varifocal lenses are generally preferred to bifocals as they offer a greater range of natural vision and from the outside look like single vision lenses making them more cosmetically appealing. Our varifocal Lenses are available in a choice of materials from conventional plastic through to our high performance 1.74 lens.
These can be enhanced with many different options from anti-reflection coatings to fast-reacting transition lenses.
Bifocal lenses provide a convenient way to combine distance and near vision in one lens. The near vision part of the lens is contained in a small segment visible on the front of the lens and sits level with the top of your lower eyelid so as not to interfere with your distance vision. Although not as cosmetically appealing as a varifocal lens, bifocal lenses are functional and simple to use. If you require clear vision for distance, close-up for reading and for mid or intermediate range (computer use, prices in shops etc) a varifocal lens will be required.
This is the most common type of optical lens.
If you require vision correct for either distance, reading or computer work this is the option for you.
If you need correction for 2 of the above, so distance and reading for example.
Either Varifocal or Bi-Focal lenses will be required

This is for everyday use which is often worn continuously.
Varifocals may be an option, if you have to remove your distance prescription glasses to read or do close work.
This is sometimes advised by your optician to help reduce eye strain if you use VDU’s for an extended period of time.
This option is for reading or close work only.
Select this option if you are making your own arrangements for lenses or have decided to try the frame for suitability first.
Select this option if you need no correction of your vision, but would like to wear designer glasses with non-prescription lenses.
Our non-prescription lenses are made from the same high-quality lens materials as our prescription lenses.
